Development
In a number of our projects, we use our specialist knowledge and experience to produce policies, strategies and technical documents and reports for our clients. For some, this is the ultimate objective of the work, and for others it is a side-product, adding value for our clients. Through our work, we have developed strategies and policies, case studies, guidance documents, toolkits and National Occupational Standards.
For the Sector Skills Development
Agency, we facilitated a discussion involving SSC Chief Executives and others, which led to us drafting the first network-wide strategy for Customer Service, as one of the network’s cross-cutting themes. The strategy was subsequently endorsed by the Skills for Business Network’s Workforce Development Group.
For the Sector Skills Development
Agency, we developed eligibility criteria for standards setting bodies and quality criteria for the development and content of National Occupational Standards. We were subsequently asked to manage a UK-wide consultation on the draft criteria and the criteria documents were well-received. Based on the consultation results, we refined the two criteria documents and they were agreed by the UK National Occupational Standards Board.
For Asset Skills, we
are leading a project to review existing occupational and functional maps and National Occupational Standards for housing. The overall aim of the project is to develop improved versions of the maps and Standards so that they are used more widely in the housing sector. The functional map will identify all of the key functions and activities undertaken in the housing sector. This map of functions will then inform the review and redevelopment of the Standards. As part of our development work, we will be consulting with various housing organisations.
